INTERNATIONAL THEATRE & DANCE PROJECT is excited to announce our newest program. ITDP: Odyssey is a 14-day acting training program for ages 23+ of all ages and experience levels. 

 

Week 1: Athens & Tolos

This first week is about building community within our group of participants and forging an understanding of Greece's relationship with theatre, its culture, and its ancient and modern theatre practices.

Sunday, July 6 — Arrival Day for participants. No formal activities.

Monday, July 7 — Climb Acropolis Hill and discover its theatres and slopes, followed by an orientation dinner in Historic Monistiraki.

Tuesday & Wednesday, July 8-9 —Ancient Greek Theatre Theory & Practical workshops, and Greek Folk Dancing at our Athens host studio. These workshops will include lecture, discussion, and acting/movement components.

Thursday, July 10 — Depart for the beautiful coastal town of Tolos. Check into our hotel and enjoy the relaxing scenery, swim in stunning waters, and enjoy authentic cuisine!

Friday, July 11 — Mid-morning courses at our Tolos rehearsal room space before seeing an evening production at the Ancient Theatre at Epidaurus.​​

 

Week 2: Naxos

Saturday, July 12 — Travel day to Naxos island

Sunday, July 13 — Recreation Day (suggestions will be shared)

Monday-Thursday, July 14-17 — Daily classes at our island studio.

• Island workshops include Ancient Greek Ensemble & Scene Work, Shakespeare & Text, & Contemporary Monologue coaching Film Studies,

Friday, July 18 — Recreation Day (suggestions will be shared)

Saturday, July 19 — Programming officially ends. Participants may return back to Athens by ferry with the group or make alternative return arrangements.
