Registration, Costs and Housing FAQs

 

What is the legal business name: ITDP is a branch of International Dance Project. International Theatre & Dance Project refers to the program title. Please make all checks payable to IDP. 

Who can register?: This program is appropriate for students with a passion for theatre and/or dance between the ages of 18-25. There are limited spots available for students ages 16-17. Students ages 16-17 must be accompanied by their own chaperone(s). Applicants that are outside of this age bracket will be considered on an individualized basis. International Theatre & Dance Project is committed to equality of educational opportunities and does not discriminate against applicants, students, or faculty staff based on race, national origin, religion, sex, or disability.

 

Chaperones: All students under the age of 18 must attend this program with a chaperone. Students ages 18+ should attend with a chaperone if they require specific health, independent living, and/or self-care needs, or have difficulty with the demands of Greece's climate and landscape, as ITDP is unable to offer personalized assistance in these areas.

How to register?: Students are registered when their registration form is complete and their tuition is paid in full. 

 

When to register by?: Enrollment is limited and will close when we reach our student limitation or by March 15th, 2022. 

How can I hold a spot?: Email registration form and cover letter to ITDPGreece@gmail.com. Submit payment on our website or send a check made out to IDP via mail. You will receive a confirmation email once we receive your materials

 

Tuition

 

Tuition: Tuition for the program covers instruction and masterclasses, as well as fees for Athens activities & seminars (Acropolis tour & entry ticket, metro/bus tickets, orientation/farewell dinners, Ancient Greek Theatre & Traditional Dance Seminars in Athens). Please note that these costs do not include airfare, housing, ferries, additional transportation, food, theatre productions, or additional recreational activities.​

Early Enrollment ($1800):

Students who apply by November 15, 2021, are eligible for our early enrollment tuition rate of $1800 (additional fees apply if paying via Paypal). Please submit a $300 non-refundable tuition deposit, registration form, and cover letter by November 15, 2021.* If accepted the non-refundable $300 deposit will immediately be applied and will secure the student a spot.

Standard Enrollment- Tuition:

Students who apply after November 15, 2021, are eligible for the standard tuition rate of $2000 (additional fees apply if paying via Paypal). Please submit a $2000 non-refundable tuition payment, registration form, and cover letter to ITDP. ​*​

Are there any promotional discounts or scholarships available?: Yes!

  • University and Teacher Referral $50 Discount: Students and Alumni from Wagner College or referred by Rick Edinger of Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama, McCaela Donovan of Boston University, Joe Short of Harvard University/University of Rhode Island, Ashley DeLane Burger, and Shana Dirik take an additional $50 off ANY OPTION.

 

Additional Costs

Housing in Athens (3-4 nights): ITDP will be offering a housing package for those students interested. In Athens, we will be staying in the Acropole area, which is convenient to all major sites and seminar studios. Students may choose between double and single rooms, at our partnered hotel. Students should expect to stay 4-5 nights at approximately $70/night for a double & $125/night for a single including taxes and breakfast. Alternatively, students may find their own housing in Athens.

Housing in Syros (15 nights): ITDP will be offering a budget housing package at a conveniently located pensione in the heart of Ermoupoli. Currently, 2022 rates are not available, but students can expect to pay approximately $30-$35/night for a double & $55-$60/night for a single. Students may request to room with one another or may be assigned. Alternatively, students may find their own housing in Syros.

Medical Travel Insurance: Unlike many Cycladic islands, the cosmopolitan Syros offers an extensive hospital facility near our studio & housing location. In light of the recent global pandemic, ITDP is requesting that students purchase medical travel insurance for Summer 2022. This insurance is inexpensive and will offer peace of mind. ITDP will email suggested options to students.

 

Meals: ITDP accommodations do not include kitchens. Students should plan to stock up on snacks from local grocery stores that are dry or can be refrigerated. Both hotels offer breakfast options. Students should expect to spend about $12-$25 per basic meal out.


Flights: ITDP works with a Greek travel agent who is happy to assist our students in finding the best rates for flights. Otherwise, students are responsible for booking their own flights. ​

Ferries: Students should plan to spend about $70-$80 on ferry transportation roundtrip, however, half-price ferry tickets can be purchased on Blue Star Ferry Line with the purchase of a $20 ISIC Card.

Transfers: ITDP is happy to set up transfers for our students to and from the airport. The driver will meet the student at passenger pick-up and assist with baggage. Approx. 45-euros must be paid in cash to the driver upon pick-up and drop off. If traveling with another ITDP student, prices per person are at a lower rate.

Ancient Theatre Production: If the Epidaurus Theatre Festival is running as planned in 2022, ITDP will put together a separate activity cost for students to attend. This activity will be optional, however, we would encourage students to experience a live theatre in the famous open-air Ancient Greek amphitheater. If added, this opportunity would be highly encouraged but optional.
