What our Alumni are saying about ITDP...

I genuinely cannot say enough good things about my experience with ITDP. The quality of instruction was truly excellent from every single instructor. I received so much valuable insight and feedback in each class that I will take with me and use moving forward in my career. I made friendships that I feel will last a lifetime. And of course, we had the chance to explore so many facets of Greek life and culture. Being part of this program allowed us to witness some the most magical places the island has to offer. ITDP was an amazing experience I will always remember and cherish.

If you're reading this you have to apply. I make the rules. Do it. You won't regret it. There aren't enough words in English or Greek to express how lovely this experience with ITDP is. From the incredible instructors, to the lovely scripts, talented peers, gorgeous islands, wonderful shows and culture, to the everlasting friendships I made - you will leave a better performer and person. ITDP provides a uniquely caring approach to theater. While the quality of instruction is rigorous, there's a strong emphasis on empathy and self-care that is incredibly rare in theater intensives. While the programming is on par with BoCo intensives, the backdrop of Greece and Greek culture added an incredible amount to the experience. In my nine years of theater intensives and shows, I've never experienced such a perfect blend of developing theater skills, cultural education, and caring community. ITDP fosters independence for high school students, and hones both theater and life skills for college students.

Studying theatre in Greece has been a dream of mine for a long time, and now that dream is fulfilled. If someone were thinking about going on this trip I would tell them to go and experience great training and network with great teachers, artists, and people. I have learned so much in this short time and a lot of what I learned is that I am ready to go out in the world as a working actor in any environment because of this trip.

ITDP Greece is an unforgettable program that will further develop your artistic education as well as nurture your holistic life experience. Being able to study theatre and dance in the country that gave birth to these art forms is a unique opportunity that will only refuel your passion for them and expand your skills as an artist. Being immersed in a different culture and experiencing all there is to enjoy that is out of your ordinary routine will nourish your growth as a human being, which is ultimately the essence of your art. Taking risks and accepting challenges during this trip will only stretch what you are capable of achieving. You will leave this program surprised by how much you’ve accomplished in your work and how much you’ve matured in life.

Being in the birthplace of theatre and learning its history helped me find a stronger bond to acting and the reason why we do it, and why we need to pass this art form to the next generation. So we can be in conversation with our daily life problems and struggles.

Intensive, challenging, community-building. Absolutely I would recommend ITDP, especially to college students who want more time abroad but can’t find opportunities through their schools.

I would highly recommend ITDP to anyone who wants an amazing educational experience while also getting to go to one of the most beautiful places on earth! All of the instructors were amazing and pushed me to get the most possible out of each class. It was a great experience for someone who just graduated--the perfect mix of getting to go abroad and have a mini vacation while also continuing my theatre training with people who were as invested in learning as I was in any environment because of this trip.

The decision to go on this trip was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The teachers were so inspiring and the opportunity to work with other young artists was one that truly comes once in a lifetime. Living on the island of Paros while doing what I loved was a dream come true and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. From boat trips, cliff jumping, swimming in caves, traditional Greek dancing, exploring the Parthenon in Athens, or trying the delicious Greek dishes, I experienced so many aspects of the culture that I never would have before. I left Greece not only with amazing new training and experiences but with a new family. Thank you, ITDP for the best summer of my life.

I am totally mind blown with just how helpful ITDP has been for me. Even in just the first two weeks of the semester, the things I learned and practiced this summer have been so relevant.

ITDP was not only an experience that changed me as an actor, but it also changed me as a person. This program allowed me to take my own craft as well as my life into my own hands. Putting yourself into a completely new place with so many new friends has grown my independence and drive. I feel the confidence I need to make the leaps and bounds I need to succeed. ITDP is one of the biggest chances I’ve taken, and I’m so glad I did so.

- Erin, 21, University of Rhode Island

Attending ITDP was truly one of the best decisions I have made. Not only did I grow as a performer, but I grew and changed as a person by experiencing the culture of 3 very distinctive communities in Greece. One of the things that I cherished most was learning about all different aspects of theater from professionals who have spent their careers both onstage and backstage. As someone who is passionate about both production offstage and the creative onstage, each instructor gave so much insight into the career opportunities that exist in each sector, as well as advice on how to break into the business. I will never forget my time with ITDP, as it has fundamentally changed the person I am today.
