Registration, Costs and Housing FAQs

What is the legal business name: ITDP is a branch of International Dance Project. International Theatre & Dance Project refers to the program title. Please make all checks payable to IDP. 

Who can register?: This program is appropriate for students with a passion for theatre and/or dance between the ages of 18-25. There are limited spots available for students ages 16-17. Students ages 16-17 must be accompanied by own chaperone. Applicants that are outside of this age bracket will be considered on an individualized basis. Students are registered when their registration form is complete and their tuition is paid in full. International Theatre & Dance Project is committed to equality of educational opportunities and does not discriminate against applicants, students, or faculty staff based on race, national origin, religion, sex, or disability.

 

When must I register by?: Enrollment will close when we reach our student limitation or by February 15th. Enrollment is limited, thus allowing for a small and tightly knit ensemble and individual student attention.

How can I hold a spot?: To guarantee a spot, ITDP requires a deposit of $300 at the time of application submission. You must submit your registration information and materials at the time of submitting your deposit. Your deposit will be refunded to you ONLY if you are not accepted into the program. If accepted, the deposit is non-refundable and your remaining balance is due within 30-days of accepting the offered spot. If it is not paid within 30-days, the unpaid spot may be offered to a wait-listed applicant.

 

Tuition: Tuition for the program covers instruction and masterclasses, as well as fees for  Athens activities & seminars (Acropolis Tour & ticket, metro/bus tickets, orientation/farewell dinners, Ancient Greek Theatre & Traditional Dance Seminars). Please note that these costs do not include airfare, housing, additional transportation, ferries, food or additional recreational activities.

Standard Enrollment- Tuition:

Regular tuition is $2200 and is non-refundable. Please submit $300 non-refundable deposit (will only be refunded if the student is not accepted to ITDP), registration form, and audition materials to ITDP. 

 

If accepted the $1900 non-refundable balance will be due within 30 days of being offered a spot. If the balance is unpaid by the 30-day mark (or by February 15 for late applications), the spot may be offered to waitlisted students.

Students and Alumni from Wagner College or referred by McCaela Donovan of Boston University, Joe Short of Harvard University, and the University of Rhode Island, Rachel Bertone of Boston Conservatory, and Shana Dirik take an additional $50-off balance for any option.

Early Enrollment: Paid In Full Discount Tuition: $1800. *

Please submit $1800 non-refundable tuition (will ONLY be refunded if the student is not accepted into ITDP), registration form, and audition materials to ITDP by November 1st. If accepted the non-refundable $1800 balance will immediately be applied and will secure the student a spot.

*This is the best option for those who know early on that they would like to attend ITDP definitively.

Early Enrollment- 45-Day Plan: $2000. *

Please submit $300 non-refundable deposit (will be refunded if the student is not accepted to ITDP), registration form, and audition materials to ITDP by November 1st. If accepted the $1700 non-refundable balance will be due within 45-days of being offered a spot. If the balance is not paid within 45-days of offer the student may attend at the regular tuition rate if a spot is still available at that time.

*This is the best option for those who would like to make their flight plans when fares are lower.

 

Chaperones: All students under the age of 18 must attend this program with a chaperone. Families may designate a family member or chaperone of their choice if preferred.

Additional Costs

Housing in Athens (3-4 nights): ITDP will be offering a housing package for those students interested. 

In Athens, we will be staying in the Acropole area, which is convenient to all major sites and seminar studios. Students may choose between double and single rooms at our partnered hotel. Depending on early arrival options students should expect to stay 2-3 nights at approximately $70/night including taxes and breakfast.

 

Housing in Paros (15-16 nights). ITDP will be offering a budget housing package at the lovely traditional pensione that we resided at for summer 2019. The pensione only has six rooms so housing assignments here are on a first-come-first-serve basis. The pensione is the perfect distance between the studio and the lively old town! Pending availability, students may request a single, double, triple, or quad room. Rooms range from $23-$60/night including taxes. Students may request to room with one another or may be assigned.

 

Students who would like a kitchen should inquire about the traditional house in the old town, which will be approximately $55-$65/night pending room setups. Students may also select their own housing in the town of Parikia if preferred. ITDP is happy to help students and families who do not wish to stay in group housing select appropriately located hotels & BNB housing accommodations that are affordable.

 

Meals: Students in group housing will be taken to the grocery store upon arrival. Those at the pensione will not have a kitchen and should plan to stock up on snacks that can be refrigerated. Students should expect to spend about $10-$20 per basic meal out.


Flights: ITDP works with a Greek travel agent who is happy to assist our students in finding the best rates for flights. Otherwise, students are responsible for booking their own flights. 

Ferries: Students should plan to spend about $70-$80 on ferry transportation to and from Paros, however, half-price ferry tickets can be purchased on Blue Star Ferry Line with the purchase of a $20 ISIC Card.

Transfers: ITDP is happy to set up transfers for our students to and from the airport. The driver will meet the student at passenger pick-up and assist with baggage. 40-euros must be paid in cash to the driver upon pick-up and drop off.
