
Intensive Overview

Athens: August 1-4, 2023
Students will arrive on July 31 to settle in and meet in Athens on August 1st for an orientation dinner and tour of the Acropolis. Students will have opportunities to visit additional historical sites, see live performances, explore Athens, and take part in introductory Greek Theatre and Dance Workshops.
Travel to Zakynthos: August 5-6, 2023
On Friday, August 5 students wil travel by private charter bus to see a performance at the theatre at Ancient Epidauru. After the production, they will spend on ferry to Syros Island and settle into their accommodations. They will have the evening to explore the island. Sunday is a
recreation day. Students may make their own plans to explore the island or participate
in an activity suggested by ITDP, such as a tour of the island by boat and visiting different swimming spots. This will be at an additional cost.
Syros Classes: August 8-12 & 16-19, 2022
Summer 2022 includes daily core classes in Ancient Greek Theatre & Dance, Choro Drama, Shakespeare & Text, Acting for Film, Musical Theatre Vocal Performance, Monologue & Contemporary Scene Study with additional master classes in Musical Theatre Dance, Ballet, Traditional Greek Folk Dance.
Recreation Days: August 13-15, 2022
Saturday & Sunday are recreation days. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the cultural and recreational aspects and events on the island and the beautiful surrounding Cycladic islands. Mykonos and Santorini are within 1-3 hours by ferry from Syros. ITDP will offer some opportunities, however, students may make their own plan if they wish.
Monday we will take an extra recreational day in observation a National Greek Holiday. There will be plenty of activities and cultural experiences on the island of Syros.
